Going through a 1979 ‘LEGO ideas’ book (‘6000’), I noticed a space plane that always caught my attention, so I gave it a try to build it, and create Bricklink studio based instructions. Here it is.
Finally, add a classic minifigure and take two existing minifigures (any one will do), remove the head, flip the torso to have its back facing the front, and stick a utensil space gun / torch on its torso to act as the droid’s head. The result will be something like below:
